Bulawayo - A Zvishavane man who was reportedly caught pants down with a donkey in a bush, shocked the owner when he offered $150 as 'pride price' in a bid to evade justice meted out.

Dennis Muteyo (44) was reportedly caught having s.ex with a donkey in the middle of the night by its owner, Farai Shumba. The incident happened at Kasvoro village.

The alleged animal rapist was disturbed by Shumba when he was having a nice time with the donkey and he reportedly failed to escape. Shumba force marched the accused to his friend’s place. Realising he was in for a big fix, Muteyo offered to pay $150 as 'bride price'.

However, it turned out he did not even have the amount he was offering and therefore the matter was reported to the police and he was arrested on bestiality charges. Muteyo was hauled before Zvishavane magistrate Peter Madiba and he pleaded not guilty, but was convicted due to overwhelming evidence.
S.ex With An Animal Is A Crime

It is reported that sometime in January around 11 pm, Shumba was in a bushy area looking for his donkeys which had gone astray when he found Muteyo raping one of his donkeys. Muteyo was being intimate with the white and grey donkey.

The shocked Shumba confronted him, but he failed to explain what was happening. He then took him to his friend Pedzisai Mapenda’s homestead and they phoned another villager Cuthbert to witness. Muteyo offered to pay $150 as lobola for the donkey and to show his seriousness he transferred $40 to Pedzisai via EcoCash.

Unfortunately, his money did not save him as the three men decided to proceed to the police to report the matter. As a result he was arrested and he pleaded not guilty before the magistrate citing that donkeys were a distance away from him.

Due to overwhelming evidence, he was fined $200 or three months imprisonment and an additional six months were wholly suspended on condition of five years good behaviour. - B Metro
