The Gauteng Hawks in Johannesburg bust an illegal drug lab yesterday and arrested two suspects.
The pair is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court in Ekurhuleni this morning for dealing in drugs, and possession of drugs and chemicals used to make drugs, worth R20 million.Suspects, aged 36 and 38, were arrested just before midnight on Monday when the cops arrived at their home in a quiet suburb of Alberton.

The two suspects were found asleep in the house near Glenview Primary School when the cops arrived.
Police confiscated the drugs and chemicals at the house. According to Hawks spokeswoman Captain Ndivhumo Mulamo, the arrest by the Organised Crime Unit’s Gauteng War Room came after members acted on information from the public.

It’s understood the police were monitoring the suspects’ movements in the days before the arrest.
“When officers stormed the premises on Appelgrein Street just before 12am, drug manufacturing equipment, 12kg of tik and an assortment of chemicals worth over R20 million was recovered,” said Mulamo, adding that more suspects were expected to be arrested soon. - Daily Sun
