On the advice of his doctors, he had to travel to South Africa for treatment. Earlier in 2014, the opposition leader was taken ill and has to cancel his address at a rally.
“All I can tell you is that we got a message from the president’s doctor that he can’t come. It’s important for his health,” Tamborinyoka said.
Mwonzora added that: “Yesterday he successfully underwent a medical procedure and is recuperating well in South Africa. We are happy that our President is recovering well and we wish him a speedy recovery.
"We kindly request the nation and the party to give the President and his family the necessary space and privacy as he recovers.”
