Harare - Fresh from a cancer treatment session in South Africa, MDC-T, supreme leader Morgan Tsvangirai has seconded Elias Mudzuri and Nelson Chamisa as vice presidents of the largest opposition in Zimbabwe.
His latest move is viewed as a bid to quell succession debates that have surfaced since his diagnosis with colon cancer recently. |

The new set up means the party has three lieutenants to Tsvangirai, alongside the party’s first vice-president Thokozani Khupe.
"In line with the directive given to me by the National Council yesterday, I have now appointed Hon. Nelson Chamisa and Hon Elias Mudzuri as Vice Presidents of the party."
"The two will join Hon. Thokozani Khupe in assisting me in the execution of my responsibilities and preparing the party for the next election," announced Tsvangirai during a press briefing.
Tsvangirai was recently diagnosed with cancer of the colon, an ailment that is likely to affect his role as party leader as the party gears for the land mark 2018 elections.
