The Late Apostle Chriseri to be Buried Next Month

“The Chiriseri family would like to announce that the celebration of the life of the late Apostle Charles Chiriseri, founder and senior pastor of HPMI, will be held on Saturday 22 October in Bulawayo,” said Bishop Nyathi.

He expressed gratitude for the support from members of the public who have proved to be a pillar of strength for the family during the time of bereavement.

The Bishop said although Pastor Chiriseri was still hospitalised, she was recovering. He said more details about the burial would be availed in due course.

During an interview with  a local weekly, he said, “I believe discipleship has been thrown out the door and that why we have people who move from one church to the other. So many spiritual tourists! They move from spectacular things to another spectacular thing…”

Zimbabwe is experiencing the same Exodus within the Christian movement.

Apostle Chiriseri is originally from Mt Darwin but was educated in Bulawayo. Thereafter, he attended the University of Zimbabwe, graduating with a degree in agricultural production.

He worked in the private sector – and was born again in 1974. He also served as an acting Secretary General of Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ).

Tributes continue to flow from many sections.

"For nearly two years we sat under your tutorship, being trained and sharpened for the work of the ministry. Your knowledge and wisdom enhanced our own understanding. Little did we know that just a few years later you will be gone.

"And in such tragic circumstances that have left us with more questions than answers. Go well, God's General. May your dear soul rest in eternal peace! You will be sadly missed...," wrote author and journalist, Philip Chidavaenzi.

His church had thrust to nurture transformational leadership.

Apostle Chiriseri founded His Presence Ministries International, which has branches in the United Kingdom, South Africa and 10 branches across Zimbabwe.

At the time of his death, he was a member and leader of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ) and Council of Apostles.

He is survived by his wife, four children and an adopted niece. - tinzwei.com/The Herald
