Chelsea star Victor Moses continues to earn high praise from some of the coaches he went through on his way to the top.

Former Crystal Palace manager, Neil Warnock who gave the Super Eagles striker a break in 2007, revealed that it was his threatening warning to then 16-year-old Moses that fired him to the top.

The outspoken 68-year-old, now in charge of Cardiff City, claimed the youngster never put enough effort in before that conversation.

“People like Victor Moses, never tried a leg until I had a chat with him. And that just hit home with him one night,” Warnock said.

“He did all the things going forward like he can, but he never defended, he didn’t bother. I remember saying to him at [an away game against] Cardiff. You’ve got to grow up now, you can end up playing for Bromley, or you can go to the very top, it’s up to you”.

“No disrespect to Bromley, but we used to play our reserve games there. And that night at Cardiff, he chased, harried, tackled.

“He went to the Africa Cup of Nations a few years ago (2013) and he got man of the [tournament]. I texted him: “Remember Bromley?” And he texted me straight back, did Victor, and I love to see him now at Chelsea.” - Online Sources
