Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted he regrets his club selling former players Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne.

The two Belgium internationals were sold by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, with Lukaku heading to Everton and De Bruyne to Wolfsburg before joining Manchester City, and both have gone on to become quality Premier League players.

"It's always very difficult to always take the best decision," Conte said, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
Conte Blames Jose

"Sometimes it can happen that you think one thing and then, in the future, something else happens. A different situation. I think, above all, in football it's not simple to give always a correct evaluation for players.

"Sometimes a player who, in the last two years or so, didn't play well goes on to have a fantastic season. That happens. But it's not right to talk about mistakes.”

Lukaku has impressed since joining Everton and is currently the joint top scorer in the Premier League this season with 19 goals. He has recently rejected a new contract at Goodison Park and there has been speculation the 23-year-old could rejoin his former team due to his eagerness to win trophies and play Champions League football.

City signed De Bruyne from Wolfsburg in 2015 for a fee of £55m and is a crucial part of Pep Guardiola's side. The 25-year-old won the League Cup last season but his side's best chance of silverware this year is now the FA Cup after being knocked out of the Champions League by Monaco on Wednesday. - Online Sources
