A heated war of words has ensured on social media, after a white South African man was filmed threatening a black mother in a Johannesburg Spur restaurant. The video has since gone viral, exposing the racial divide, while others have called for his ‘elimination.’

The man identified as Nico Viljoen, is a car salesman in Rustenburg. He has similar reported cases – the last one was dismissed after investigations.

By Derick Matsengarwodzi
Viljoen and his friends are allegedly on a harassment trail, targeting the black community, according to a post on the SA Political Forum on Facebook.
The Alleged Bully

On the platform, Yusef Suping commented that: “Why can’t we just kill this people, it will be 1 problem solved.”

Suping’s radical resolution was backed by Thokozani Nkosi who instigated the assassination of Viljoen.

“He must be assassinated and killed this rubbish, acrtually any white a** must be assassinated.

Diverging views have however emerged.

“This guy is very dangerous in public, he attacked a woman…”

Viljoen could be a violent man in need of help. One of his friends confirmed that he had manhandled his wife.

Hlengwe MaNyambose said: …it’s sad that white have to live like chickens now, they should express themselves because they will be accused of racism. Are whites not allowed to be angry too? … I know there are racist whites as there are racist blacks…”

Another commentator, Vustar-Show K’bheka cautioned the extremist views.

“This white idiot does not represent the entire white community. They are not all like this. I can even give you example of white people who were even part of the struggle.”

Spur has since banned him from its outlets nationwide.

Spur Steak Ranche said “The man in the video is not welcome at any Spur restaurant nationally. As a family restaurant, Spur does not condone this type of behaviour. We have investigated the incident with Texamo Spur staff and management, who expressed that they did in fact try to intervene, but were pushed away numerous times by the angry male customer”.

Meanwhile, opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters wish to carry a citizen arrest on Viljoen.

"We want to go and pay him a visit. We'll do a citizen’s arrest in terms of intimidation and other wrong things in terms of the law," said EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.
