Man Utd striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic faces up to 12 months out of action following knee ligament damage. He accepts his Manchester United career is over, according to reports.

The Swedish striker faces up to 12 months out of action after suffering knee ligament damage. The Mirror claim he is now targeting a comeback in America in MLS once he has completed his rehabilitation.

Ibrahimovic is out of contract at the end of the season after stalling on a one-year extension that was on the table.
Zlatan Will Leave Man United

With the 35-year-old set to miss a large part - if not all - of the upcoming campaign, hopes of remaining at Old Trafford were effectively ended once United’s worst fears were confirmed regarding the extent of his injury.

He has vowed to come back stronger - and United are expected to assist him in his recovery process. The injury is a devastating blow to the former Barcelona and Paris St German striker, who had been in outstanding form this season.

His 28 goals in his debut campaign in English football made him United’s leading scorer. He also scored the winner in the EFL Cup final in February, which secured Jose Mourinho’s first piece of major silverware at the club.

Mourinho was already planning on overhauling his attack this summer, with Antoine Griezmann his top target. But he was keen to keep Ibrahimovic for another 12 months - even if he’d played a reduced role. - Mirror
