Harare – After Harare giants Dynamos signed a foreign striker, opponents dismissed him as another ‘gold digger’ seeking to revive his career after ‘flopping’ in his former league back home.

But months after the ink dried on the contract form, Dynamos are reaping the rewards and shaming critics as Cameroonian striker, Christian Ntouba is proving to be value for money, hitting the right tone at the precise moment.

Three years ago, he was the second top goalscorer in the Cameroon Championship. The 23 year old can play with both feet and is gifted with pace and very strong stamina.

His exploits came into the fore when he struck the controversial equalising goal in Bulawayo against arch enemies Highlanders. He followed his rich vein with another wonder strike against Harare City in a Harare Derby recently.

His new club Dynamos Football Club is a Zimbabwean based professional football club which plays in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. It is arguably the most decorated football club in Zimbabwe.

The club has won several accolades locally, and has performed at various international tournaments and commands a huge support base of more than a million fans. Identified with its blue and white regalia, the team christened ‘DeMbare’ by its legion of followers is followed by many.

The name DeMbare rose due to the team's clos association attachment to their traditional home ground Rufaro Stadium which is located in the iconic suburb of Mbare in Harare.

Dynamos reached the Champions League final in 1997, losing 4-2 to Asec Mimosa. The team could be right platform for Ntouba to reach greater heights, especially the lucrative South Africa league. – www.tinzwei.com /Online Sources
