Dumisani Zuma: 'I am a Free Agent,' Claims Chiefs Fourth Signing

At last, the speculation is over as Kaizer Chiefs have made a move in the transfer market by signing Dumisani Zuma from Bloemfontein Celtic, making him their fourth capture.

Media had reported that the player had been spotted at Naturena ahead of a possible move to the Glamour Boys and it has now been confirmed that he's penned a long-term contract at the club.

The 22-year-old Zuma was believed to be in a contractual dispute with Phunya Sele Sele, but was eventually allowed to join the Amakhosi on a three-year deal.

“I promise the supporters that I want to help Chiefs win trophies this coming season,” Zuma told the Chiefs website. It’s a great feeling to be at Chiefs and to have trained with the squad for the first time this morning.”

The Chiefs website says Zuma is someone who can operate on either wing, or even behind the strikers. And the man himself says he wants to create a turnaround in fortunes for Steve Komphela’s charges.

Zuma made his Bafana debut in the Chan qualifier against Botswana recently, and hails from Pietermaritzburg. He said some of his Chiefs heroes include David Mathebula, Gert Schalkwyk, Gerard Sibeko and Kaizer Motaung.

“I loved above all Mathebula and Schalkwyk, because they used to create chances to make the team play. That’s what I like to do as well.”

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Dumisani Zuma, adding him to their list of new signings.

It remains to be seen whether the player's ongoing case with Bloemfontein Celtic has been settled - they are adamant he is still their player - however Chiefs seem to have taken the player at his word and signed him as a free agent.

Zuma has penned a three-year deal with the Glamour Boys and joins Teenage Hadebe, Philani Zulu and Bhongolethu Jayiya as their acquisitions ahead of the 2017/18 PSL season. - Online Sources
