Fresh from aiding Bidvest Wits to clinch the PSL championship, the Masandawana duo of Zimbabwean bustling striker Cuthbert Malajila and Mogakolodi Ngele will have to wait until month end for the coach to decide their fate.
But for now, Pitso has said they are not part of his immediate plans as the Brazilians concentrate on retaining the CAF Champions tittle – and the squad is already guaranteed a quarter final slot in the lucrative African soccer showpiece. |

Though Gavin Hunt had shown interest in the players, his offer was turned off due to Masandawana’s hefty demands for their signatures, leaving him with no option but to let the pair leave.
“The players are going back, Sundowns want [too much money] for them. At this point in time, they [Ngele and Malajila] don't want to go back, but they will go back. They have a contract and that was part of the deal,” Hunt reveled, adding that the duo were not keen to return to Sundowns.
The duo, according to Mosimane will have to be reviewed later since they are both cup tied, having done duty for Wits on the African safari, hence they cannot be used by Sundowns. In addition, game time is not guaranteed.
“You must also understand that they are not registered for CAF and I don’t have enough places for CAF. I only have three places to fill for CAF so the players that I am going to fill as the priority now are players who are not cup tied because I need to fill the three slots,” revealed Mosimane to Kickoff magazine.
However, with the league beckoning, the players have a chance to showcase their worthiness.
“But Ngele and Malajila they are cup tied so what is the point of focusing on them now. Those ones we will make a decision on them in late July because August is somewhere around. Only those players who will help us in the Champions League and those that will help us in the top eight (are in the immediate plans),” said Jingles.
Sundowns have a hectic schedule that has left the PSL with a headache on how to accommodate them for the upcoming domestic league. Injuries to key players have also left Mosimane with cryptic puzzle to outwit.
Mosimane maintains he is searching for quality, rather than numbers.
“If you don’t bring better than what you have then why bring? Should it be because he is free? We have top eight which will be mixed with Champions League so we would like to have players that will make the team stronger and not give numbers. That is the thing and it is not easy. We are limited but we need quality,” added the reigning coach of the year
The Brazilians face AS Vita, before embarking on the MT8 – then the domestic league commences.
