Cameroon Coach: End of Road for Hugo Broos?

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos is highly unlikely to have the chance to defend the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2019.

Camfoot reports that the Belgian tactician, who guided the Indomitable Lions to glory in the AFCON earlier this year, will not receive an extension to his current contract which runs to February 2018.

Following Cameroon’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, it was suggested that Broos would have been shown the door already were it not for a committee organised by the Cameroon Football Federation.

“If he had not been sacked since the defeat against Nigeria in the qualifying phase of the 2018 World Cup, it's because a standardisation committee was set up at the Cameroon Football Federation. Otherwise, he would have gone since,” Camfoot quotes an anonymous source.

With Broos set to be released in February next year, Cameroon’s final 2018 World Cup qualifier away to Zambia later this month will likely be the 65-year-old’s last match in charge of the Indomitable Lions. - Online Sources
