Johannesburg - Veteran midfielder Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala says his hunger for success has grown following a three year absence from the Bafana Bafana set-up.

The Kaizer Chiefs star had his first training session with the national team yesterday but did not finish the session as a precautionary measure for his recovering hip injury.

Amakhosi’s talisman is optimistic that Bafana can defeat Senegal in their 2018 World Cup qualifier on Friday.

The 33-year-old said he would keep working hard to help the team achieve their dream of reaching the World Cup finals in Russia.
Shabba Hungry to Win

“I feel good and happy to be back,”  Shabba said in Polokwane yesterday.

“I’m ready and eager for the big match. For me it’s business as usual and I will do my best to make a valuable contribution.”

Bafana cannot afford to lose or draw against Senegal in their two-legged qualifier, with the second and last set for Dakar on Tuesday.

Said Shabba: “It’s in our hands. We have what it takes to qualify. It’s a tough hurdle but we have enough ammunition to win the two matches.

“It’s a big game and this is the best time to play for Bafana. It’s a great test for us and all the big players want to play in this type of a game. I am where I’m needed and I want to help my country.” - Daily Sun
