Johannesburg - Chippa United coach Teboho Moloi has apologised for saying Kaizer Chiefs are often favoured by the match officials.

Moloi took aim at Chiefs after his side Chippa lost 1-0 to Steve Komphela's charges in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium two weeks ago.

After losing the match Moloi complained about the officials who were officiating the game saying their decisions were in favour of Chiefs.

In an interview with SuperSport TV after the match Moloi said: "I'm not going to complain.
Chippa Coach

The only thing I'm going to say is that I remember in my playing days 1987-1992 when we lost against Kaizer Chiefs this is how we used to lose.”

"If I'm going to lose games in this way then I'm still learning. I expect to lose with the opposition really coming at me, coming with tactical plans, that I'll accept. But I have to accept because I grew up knowing that the only way Chiefs could beat me is through this way.”

In a statement that was released by the club on Monday, Moloi withdrawn his utterances made against Chiefs.

Quoted from the statement he said: "I would like to withdraw the comments I made against Kaizer Chiefs in relation to my playing days (for Orlando Pirates between 1987-1992). The statement was made in the heat of the moment,"
