Cameroon coach Rigobert Song is disappointed by their early elimination from the 2018 African Nations Championship, but believes the experience should serve the team well in the future.
Following an opening day 1-0 defeat to Congo, the Indomitable Lions suffered their second consecutive defeat by a 1-0 fall to Angola.Palancas Negras captain Ricardo Job converted a penalty on the half hour mark to hand his side all three points at Stade Andrar, Agadir.
“We made some mistakes during the match and that's normal because the players are still learning,” said, Song, as reported by Cafonline.
“I am happy with the performance of the players who have given their maximum. I will continue to work with them to make progress.
“On the other hand, I am disappointed by the cruel end. We're eliminated from the tournament and it's a huge disappointment.”
By their two defeats, Cameroon find themselves rock-bottom of the group without a point ahead of their last game against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.
Three points against the Stallions will only offer pride as second-placed Angola have four points to their name, putting the Palancas Negras out of reach for Song’s men.
