Jazzman Mahlakgane: Agent Reveals Ntshangase's Contract Talks

Johannesburg - Siphelele Ntshangase's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has explained to the media why his client's move to Kaizer Chiefs took time to be finalised.

Chiefs on Thursday announced the signing of Ntshangase from Baroka on a two-and-a-half year contract amid competition for the midfielder’s services from Bloemfontein Celtic.

"Lots of things happen behind the scenes, a lot, and if you are not firm you will be sent from pillar to post," Mahlakgane said.

"So you need to have a firm position and stand by it, regardless of whether there's a storm, wind or there's rain. You can't move because otherwise you will end up being like everybody else.
One in the Bag for Chiefs

"For me the principle is one… I asked the guys from Baroka why do you wanna loan the player out? 'No, Chiefs wanna have a look at him for six months then they'll decide'. I said to them it's not about Chiefs, it's about the player. I represent the player. If the reason doesn't benefit the player the deal is off.

"You were right whatever you said with Kgoloko [Bakgaga coach Thobejane] that I'm pushing for [an] outright [move]. I was pushing for outright because I found it to be insulting [to loan the player] and it sounded more like this boy was going to be on trial for six months at Chiefs,: he revealed to KickOff.

"But it doesn't matter... as we speak now he is doing a medical then he is going back to Polokwane, then he will be back on Monday."

Mahlakgane insisted the medical was a formality.

"The deal is done, it's not as if the boy has a broken spine or... he's fit and he was playing at Baroka. The fact that he was signed up by Baroka [means] he has passed a medical that side. You know the story about a medical, it is just to satisfy the club except if the player is injured." - KickOff
