Harare – Every time indisposed soccer giants Dynamos are in a crisis – former coach Callisto Pasuwa’s name always comes into the fray – in a desperate bid to salvage their waning pride.
And the ongoing season is not different.
With current mentor Lloyd Mutasa on a three match ultimatum – Pasuwa – a winner of four marathon league titles from 2011-2014 – could be ‘warming’ on the sidelines to assume managerial duties – at least, according to the Harare rumour mill. But Pasuwas’s manager – Gibson Mahachi maintains the unattached gaffer will not return to DeMbare until a few outstanding issues are attended to.
“I think those are just rumours, but as far as we know no-one have approached the coach formally so there is nothing. Even if there were to be a formal approach, it must be remembered that there are a number of issues that need to be resolved first.
“The two parties did not divorce amicably the last time out and the coach is still owed over $20 000 from his previous contract and all that has to be settled first before we get into any talks,’’ mentioned Mahachi.
Callisto Pasuwa will not Retrun to DeMbare Very Soon |
Pasuwa also departed his Warriors post in similar fashion in February, 2017.
The gossip linking Pasuwa has been fuelled the changes to be effected at Dynamos, after a disastrous start to the season, resulting in seven winless matches.
“We held a board meeting on the 19th and discussed the need to restructure after taking into consideration the state of our club. So the meeting resolved that there will be a restructure and upgrading of the club structures within a few days, in fact, I should say next week we will make the necessary announcements.
“We’ll also soon hold our AGM, but I must say the executive has been briefed on all these developments,’’ revealed chairman, Bernard Marriot Lusengo.
The trio of Kenny Mubaiwa, treasurer Moses Chikwariro and Secretary-general Webster Marechera are at the helm of the ailing revered institution, while news of a spell on the team by one of dismissed executive has gathered momentum.
“All those speculations and rumours about this or that individual being responsible for the team’s loss of form or the results are just mere talk and not true at all. No-one is sabotaging the team or bewitching it.
“You cannot blame any individual for the poor results and likewise you cannot praise or single out any individual when there is a good winning run,” Marriot tried to be diplomatic.
