Puskas Award: Chiefs to Assess Oscarine Masuluke

Johannesburg - Lee Baxter, Chiefs’ goalkeeper coach, will no doubt be running the rule over Oscarine Masuluke before offering his advice to  Steve Komphela and management with regards to whether he has a future at the club or not.

With Brillian Khuzwayo’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Masuluke could be seen as an option to come in as Itumeleng Khune’s number two for the new campaign, therefore would not be needed for the time being.

According to sources, the Puskas Award nominee – famous for an overhead kick goal against Orlando Pirates – started training with Chiefs on Tuesday before the clash with Free State Stars, although it remains to be seen how long he will be given to impress Komphela and his technical team.

Kaizer Chiefs could be looking to find Khuzwayo’s replacement if he leaves at the end of the season, and have brought in a famous face to start training at the club.

While there has been no confirmation from Chiefs, the Siya crew has been reliably informed that former Baroka FC goalkeeper, Masuluke, has started training with the Glamour Boys as he looks to try and land himself a contract at Naturena.

Though the 24-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Bakgaga, FIFA rules mean that he will only be able to play for a new club once the next transfer window open due to the fact that he was released after the last one was opened. - Soccer Laduma
