Johannesburg - After guiding Cape Town City to an MTN8 Cup final and a fifth-place league finish, former Bafana Bafana international Benni McCarthy has attracted the attention of Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport respectively.
According to media sources, Chiefs are believed to have made informal enquiries about’s immediate future with Cape Town City.
Although at this point it seems that SuperSport are not the only team showing interest in the 40-year-old. Chiefs have made informal enquiries about McCarthy, wanting to find out what his plans are regarding his immediate future with City.
McCarthy is currently completing his UEFA Pro License, while he has recently been linked with the vacant SuperSport United head coach role.
Amakhosi have been linked with a number of coaches, with Stuart Baxter believed to be topping the list at this point and while nothing has been confirmed as yet, indications are that the Soweto giants want to look at every possible option before choosing the next best man for the job.
However, as things stand, Chiefs have just informally enquired about McCarthy, as the head coach is still contracted to the Mother City-based club.
