Transfer Rumours: Chiefs Target Two Zimbabwean Strikers

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs are chasing the signature of two Zimbabweans to join the ailing former giants in a bid to win silverware after a three season trophy drought.

And now club executives at Naturena are believed to be interested in Talent Chawapiwa and unsettled Tendai Ndoro. Chawapiwa is a Zimbabwean professional footballer playing for Baroka and the Zimbabwe national team.

Already Chiefs have Willard Katsande and Teenage Radebe in their squad, will seek to boost the team, where Knowledge made his name before moving to Europe.

Ndoro plays for Ajax Cape Town was recently dragged to court after he joined the Urban Warriors in January from Saudi Arabia club Al Faisaly, but this was his third club in a single season, having featured for Orlando Pirates back in August at the start of the campaign before he was sold.

World football governing body Fifa do not allow for players to play for more than two clubs in a single season, although they can be registered with the understanding that they will be involved only in the following campaign.

The Glamour Boys are known to be chasing are Andile Jali – now a free agent – and Mosa Lebusa of Ajax Cape Town, with the central midfield and left back believed to be two positions they are desperate to bolster.

While they are yet to appoint a new head coach, it is also believed that they are hunting for a new goalkeeper to provide competition to number one, Itumeleng Khune, following the exit of Brilliant Khuzwayo come the end of June.

Along with the likes of Jali and Lebusa, the Amakhosi have also been linked with players such as Thabo Rakhale, Brandon Petersen, Reyaad Pieterse, Vincent Pule, Tebogo Makobela and Sifiso Hlanti.

Jali is currently a free agent after being released early from his contract with Belgian club KV Oostende last month, following a three-and-a-half year spell abroad.

The ex-Orlando Pirates star has been flirting with fans over his future on social media, with Bucs chairman Irvin Khoza recently confirming talks with their former star.

Management has already explained that there will be big changes in the coming weeks as they look to bring to an end an unprecedented three season trophy drought, with fans eager to see a return to the glory days with the acquisition of some big-name players.
