Luc Eymael: 'Anyone Willing to Take me, Must Buy me Out of Contract'

Johannesburg - After missing on high-ranking coaches to replace Steve Khompela, including Mick McCarthy, Patrice Carteron, and Nikola Kavazovic - Kaizer recently contacted Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael.

Even though former Ghana national team coach Avram Grant appears to still be in the running for the vacant position at the Naturena, Eymael has attracted the interest of both Chiefs and SuperSport.

However, the Belgian mentor still contacted to Ea Lla Koto, said nothing is complete as his agent, Mike Makaab is currently handling all his contractual affairs.

“Yes, they approached me three or four weeks ago but until now, nothing is complete, and like I told them and my agent, if nothing is not worked out during the course of this week, I will go back to Free State Stars… it is that simple,” Eymael told Goal.

Eymael warned his suitors that they will have to buy him out of his contract with Free State Stars.

He said he's still happy at the Free State outfit, and again said he won't mind returning to the club to honour his contract should nothing materialize this week.

“I am still contracted to Free State Stars for one [more] year. Anyone willing to take me out must buy [me] out of the contract and if it doesn’t happen I will go back to Free State Stars because I am happy there.

“If they (Chiefs and SuperSport) are serious, they should do this before end of this week, otherwise, I am happy to return to Free State Stars as I promised them,” concluded Eymael.

Both Matsatsantsa and Amakhosi don't have head coaches following the departures of Eric Tinkler and Steve Komphela respectively.

Tinkler resigned as the team struggled to get off the bottom of the PSL table, while Komphela quit his job following Chiefs' 2-0 loss to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals in April.

SuperSport were heavily linked with Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rulani Mokwena, but the Soweto giants appear reluctant to release the 32-year-old mentor.
