Harare - MDC Alliance President Nelson Chamisa insists he will not be cheated like the late Morgan Tsvangirai in the forthcoming 2018 general elections.

The late MDC leader was allegedly denied a chance to rule the country, after a hugely disputed 2008 elections, that was largely condemned globally, taking a month to announce the final outcome.

“(President) Mnangagwa wants to get into office through the window, abusing conditions for elections. That’s why I told him that I will not accept what they used to do to Tsvangirai who was robbed with his eyes open.

“As long as we don’t agree on the issue of ballot paper, the election will not be done.”

The defiant Chamisa said he was determined to make sure his demands were met.

“We will push until it’s done What I am saying is that as long as we have not agreed on who prints the ballot paper, where it will be printed and how the security around the ballot paper will be like, there will be no election in Zimbabwe.”

Meanwhile, Mnangagwa has warned opposition parties for deliberately provoking violence against his party supporters in the run-up to next month’s general elections.

“Let’s show humility in Zanu PF and respect. Our respect and calmness should, however, not be regarded as weakness, if you anger us, you will see us, when things come to a head, you will see that we are not cheap people.

“When things are bad, we will be equal to the challenge. Do not start it with us,” he said.
