Harare – Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) boss Justice Priscilla Chigumba has denied claims that she is having a sexual relationship with a presidential candidate that could comprise her independence.

The under fire ZEC boss was reacting to allegations of a relationship with a presidential candidate in the forthcoming harmonised lections.

Her response came after she was asked if she was “having a private s.exual relationship that compromises your independence?”

However, former Sunday Mail editor, Edmund Kudzayi says he has evidence that she is involved with a married man.

"Chigumba is telling the truth that she is not in a relationship with a presidential candidate. I never mentioned a “presidential” candidate. Her lover is a married cabinet minister. Let’s talk on Wednesday tipedze nyaya yacho."

Chigumba has been under barrage of attacks from the opposition political ranks in administration of elections, believed to be favouring the ruling party.

“The manner in which my name and my person was vilified in that demonstration was regrettable. We can differ in our opinions without calling each other names.”

The ZEC boss further denied receiving a complaint regarding the Bulawayo postal ballot involving the police, adding that she does not take in personal that people do not trust ZEC.
