Johannesburg  – Newly-signed Kaizer Chiefs player Khama Billiat has promised a return of happy times at Naturena, after three years without any silverware in their trophy cabinet.

Since the departure of Stuart Baxter and subsequent takeover by Steve Komphela, Amakhosi have endured a barren spell since the departure.

“You always want to achieve the team goals. The team has got its own goals and we have also got our personal goals. I believe we are here for the same goal.

“We want to win trophies and put the team where it belongs,” said the 27-year-old Zimbabwean.

Billiat has settled well at Naturena, with the likes of fellow Zimbabwean mates, Willard Katsande and Teenage Radebe in the midst.

“When I got here, it was easy for me, and the guys welcomed me so well. It just feels like I’ve been here before,” the winger told Kaizer Chiefs TV.

Meanwhile, former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lucky Maselesele feels Amakhosi have enough firepower going into the new season, especially after bringing in Khama Billiat from Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The acquisition of Billiat was a good move from Chiefs, in terms of the quality that he has. He is a well established player and he will add a lot of value there.

“With the experience of guys like Castro and Parker, as well as the presence of Moon, I think Chiefs will have enough fire-power. Those are quality players we are talking about,” Maselesele says. – Sport24.
