Harare - Zimbabwe's largest mobile money platform, EcoCash now offers a foreign currency option, in line with the government directive for banks to open FCA accounts for clients.
Ecocash has informed its subscribers who are not yet in the know that they can conduct their monetary transactions in foreign currency through the use of the forex wallet option.Subscribers can prefund their accounts with forex and be able to perform all monetary transactions which require forex using said accounts.
Kindly note that you can prefund your FCA account with US$ and make payments online and at merchants offering EcoCash payments.

Also note that you are able to perform send money, Cash in and Cash out transactions using the FCA wallet.
To transact in foreign currency one will have to use the following options. Dial *1 51# and enter EcoCash pin Go to Wallet Services Go to Multi Currency Go to Change currency to: Select Option USD Wallet Confirm.
EcoCash, is a mobile phone-based money transfer, financing and microfinancing service, launched in 2011 by Econet Wireless, for its customers in Zimbabwe.
The company's headquarters is in the Econet Wireless Building in Borrowdale, a suburb of Harare, the largest city and capital of Zimbabwe.
