Harare - Investigations into the actual cause of the death of senior pastor with Upper Room Ministries, Reverend Berry Dambaza, who fell from a city building are continuing.

As of writing, many news outlets say it was an alleged suicide, leaving many questions, with few details having been obtained so far.

Dambaza died on the spot and people had to call the police to attend the scene. The body was taken to a local mortuary for post-mortem.

However, some sources allege, the servant of God was facing financial problems, while unconfirmed reports pointed to infidelity. A Note that was reportedly retrieved from his pocket say he had 'borrowed' a substantial amount of money.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“We can confirm that a church pastor allegedly jumped from the last floor of Rezende Parkade and died. We are currently investigating the case to establish the motive or the reasons behind this suicide,” he said.

Rev Dambaza was married to Sithembeni Dambaza an assistant pastor at the church. They have two daughters (Oreen and Oretha) and two sons (Osborne and Oracle).

He graduated in 1984 from the Pentecostal Bible College now known as Pan African Christian College (PACC) in Harare. Rev Dambaza published two books, ‘How to Become a Vessel that God Can Use’ and ‘How to Receive and Release the Anointing.’
