The company is seeking individuals making a positive impact in their communities.

The ongoing competition, soliciting a 90-minute video to be uploaded on the contestant’s selected social media platform, including the hashtag #Sisonke and tag the relevant social media account in selected countries.

Participants can tag either the OML Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts. For now, four countries including Malawi, South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe are eligible, with the campaign set to be rolled out to other nations later.
Old Mutual Targets Community Influencers 
“To enter, contestants need to submit a video story that shows how they are making a positive impact in their community,” the company said. “The most inspirational causes will receive R25 000 or equivalent currency towards their initiative or be considered for longer term support.”

To be eligible, one is required to “Create a 90-second video in which you introduce yourself (name, surname and country of origin) and provide details of the positive impact you are making in your community, and what support you require.”

The terms and conditions require one to be eighteen years of age or older as at (1 January 2021) and a citizen/s of one of the participating countries (Malawi, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa) or have permanent residence status in one of the participating countries at the time.

One must not have a criminal record/s and you have not been convicted of any criminal offence in a court of law (save for minor traffic offences). Further, a participant can only submit one entry related to the country you hold citizenship or permanent residence status

The competition closes on 21 May 2021.

In 2019, Old Mutual Amazing Voices launched the first season of singing competitions in gospel, pop and R&B genres.

Wanavokali of Kenya clinched the USD $100,000 prize money after public votes across the countries. Zimbabwean an eight-member male acapella ensemble Family Voices from Bulawayo came fourth.

The season 2 digital auditions, starting on 11 April, incorporating Nigeria will be competing for honours.
