Everyone needs the right mentor or coach to succeed in their endevours.

The most successful people you admire today have been mentored during their various stages in life, by mentors, who are sources of practical advice, support, and encouragement.

By @Comic24Derick

With the right mentor by your side, you become empowered, develop strategies by taping from their wealth of experience.

If someone tells you, “I’m self-made,” probably, that individual is proud to admit or they are choosing to be dishonest about their past.

Heroes cry too

“If you ask any successful business person, they will always have a great mentor at some point along the road.” Branson, despite his huge successes in business, is humble to admit that he was once a student.

Dan Pena refused to blow his own horn, when he admitted, he was some’s student before he become a celebrated entrepreneur.

“Constantine ‘Costa’ Gratsos made his fortune as a lifelong associate of shipping icon Aristotle Onassis,” admitted the Mexican American businessman. “He took a liking to me, became my first mentor, and showed me how to swim in the deep, dangerous waters of business.”

How do I find a mentor?

Easy, if you follow the simple guide presented by Rebeca Serle in response to this question.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, once said mentorship is a want, that will unleash one’s untapped greatness. “Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can.” (Image: Pixels)
“Whenever someone asks me for career advice, I always tell them to find a mentor,” the television writer and author said. “Find someone who has done what you want to do, and study the way they got there.”

Similarly, if you are a writer like Serle, you must identify an accomplished writer to mentor you.

Who is a a life coach?

Not every Jack and Jill you encounter, claiming to be an ‘expert’ can become your mentor, according to Kerry Kennedy.

“A mentor is someone with a willingness to help others, who has a capacity to inspire, a determination to work hard, a clear sense of vision, an inspiring purpose, a deep sense of integrity, and an appreciation for joy,” Kerry Kennedy.

A willingness to help others, capacity to inspire, and a determination to hard work, are some of the traits of a mentor. If those are missing, then identify someone else, quickly.

Who mentored Mark Zuckerberg?

If he wanted to, the Facebook co-founder could have offered us a completely different story on who inspired him. And guess what, we were going to believe him. But Zuckerberg chose to be humble and tell an inspiring story, honoring Microsoft founder, Bill Gates.

“Bill Gates has always been a mentor and inspiration for me even before I knew him. Just growing up, I admired how Microsoft was mission-focused,” Zuckerberg admitted. Surely, if Zuckerberg had a mentor, what about you?

Parents are among some of the greatest, yet often misunderstood and sometimes unacknowledged mentors in life. But Tiger Woods, one of the greatest golfers, admired his father. “My dad was my best friend and greatest role model. He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband, and friend.”

Mentors are not selfish

“What you want in a mentor is someone who truly cares for you and who will look after your interests and not just their own,” said Vivek Wadhwa. “When you do come across the right person to mentor you, start by showing them that the time they spend with you is worthwhile.”

Value each moment you spend in the presence of a life coach because they are looking after your interests, and sometimes they offer their time and services for free.

One man’s villain is another man’s hero

His controversy aside, Donald Trump had admirers, and they are not afraid to mention it, publicly. One of them, Michael Cohen spoke glowingly about the former U.S. president.

“Mr. Trump is more than just a boss to those of us who have been fortunate enough to be close to him, both professionally and personally. He’s more like a patriarch, a mentor,” Cohen, who served in Trump’s administration as an attorney.

Cohen added: “These qualities make him very endearing to me, which is why I am so fiercely loyal to him and committed to protecting him at all costs.”

Life coaches don’t demand honour

Michelle Obama openly admitted that his brother was her greatest mentor, though he remains relatively unknown, compared to the then American first lady.

“I come here tonight as a sister, blessed with a brother who is my mentor, my protector, and my lifelong friend,” the former U.S. first lady acknowledged. “And I come here as a wife who loves my husband and believes he will be an extraordinary president.”

In some instances, tutors may start as people who inspire you, only, but with time, they become much closer to you than family because their contribution to your life becomes valuable.

“My sensei was a British karate champion named Brian Fitkin,” Swedish actor, Dolph Lundgren said. “He was my mentor and because I had a hard relationship with my dad, he became a father figure to me.”

Since his 1985 breakthrough in showbiz, Lundgren he has starred in more than 60 action movies.

Give and it shall come back

With all the expertise under his belt, Clint Eastwood is still willing to teach. “I’m a mentor to anybody who's interested,” the accomplished film director said. Also, Nicole Richie values mentorship. “Being a mentor is something that's new for me but a role that I take very seriously.”

Mentorship is not a reproduction

“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves,” Steven Spielberg cautions, implying that mentorship is not about producing a duplicate, but unleash the greatness inside a mentee.

Great life coaches allow you to discover yourself, while they guide you along.

“Mentors don’t necessarily have the answers, but they can help you find your own answers,” Amelia Rope. To John Crosby, “Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.”

Coaching unleashes your greatness

“A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could,” Zig Ziglar was quoted saying. To succeed, you need someone to push you out of your comfort zone, someone who can make you reach heights you never imagined possible.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, once said mentorship is a want, that will unleash one’s untapped greatness. “Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can.”
