A 16-year-old girl with an IQ higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking is looking to break a record by passing 28 A-Levels in a year.
Mahnoor Cheema from Slough, who has an astonishing IQ of 161, has already taken four A-Levels since September in English language, marine science, environmental management, and thinking skills. She is also part of Mensa, where you can only qualify for membership if you score within the top 2% of the general population in an approved intelligence test.
Her family - which first moved to the UK in 2006 from Lahore, Pakistan - consists of her father, a leading barrister, her mother, a 14-year-old sister who is a national maths champion, also with an IQ of 161, and nine-year-old brother Jibran, who is already a grade four piano player.
Mahnoor's new goal follows her huge achievement last year when she scored 33 nines and one eight in her GCSEs, of which 24 were self-taught subjects.
Such success led the teenager to have a personal meeting with Pakistan's prime minster Shahbaz Sharif, where he congratulated her on her success and gifted her a laptop. Mahnoor puts her success partly down to a unique sleep schedule, which she says maximises her study time.
'After school, I sleep for three hours as I'm so tired, I wouldn't be as productive. Then I wake up at 7pm and go to bed again at 2am. The last hour of my day is spent doing piano,' she said in an interview with the Mirror.
'I guess I do find school easier than most people, I just want to explore my full capability. Plus I am genuinely interested in all of my subjects. I've always loved to challenge myself.'
Her mother, Tayyaba, has credited her skills to 'genetics, hard work, and consistency'. Her parents said that they knew Mahnoor was special after she finished the Harry Potter books by the age of six and by 11 had learned 'by heart' the Oxford English Dictionary.
Mahnoor hopes to study medicine at Oxford once she has passed her final 24 A-Levels. The previous record was in 2008 by 18-year-old Ali Moeen Nawazish who managed 24 A-Levels in a single year, before heading off to Cambridge to study Computer Science.
Back then Nawazish would regularly work ten hour days, but would only start revising for some exams three days in advance. Despite this he received 21 A grades, one B and one C.
Mensa was formed in 1946 with the sole mission of creating a place for 'like-minds to socialise, stretch themselves intellectually and engage in interesting activities'.
Currently their youngest member is toddler, Teddy Hobbs, who has managed to be admitted into the exclusive intellectual club at just three years and nine months.
There are also a few celebs sporting membership including Modern Family star Nolan Gould, who graduated high school at 13. Fellow actors Steve Martin and Geena Davis are also members. - Online Sources
