Since long ago, some cultures have been dominated by primitive beliefs, mostly interacting with the dead.

It is a common conviction that a dead relative can return in spirit to protect the living and catapult them to prosperity.

Also, the dead are held in high esteem and are believed to occupy a higher status after their departure – hence the constant worship of the dead.

Living with the dead?
Can you imagine yourself living with dead bodies? Doesn’t it sound so weird?

But, it’s very common practice for some ethnic groups in Indonesia to wrap the deceased up in special garbs and keep it safe in the house they live. It is believed that the soul of their loved ones will be preserved until burial.

But Apostle Pride Sibiya insists, “You can’t speak to God through a mediator, the only mediator is Jesus Christ.”

However, some cultures insists on offering gifts and sacrifices to the dead as well as hopeless grieving, says the servant of God.

A research on weird funeral traditions by tinzwei.com revealed that, Famadihana, a funerary tradition of the Malagasy people in Madagascar – known as the turning of the bones, people bring forth the bodies of their ancestors from the family graveyard and rewrap them in fresh cloth, than dance with the corpses around the tomb to live music.

This way, they remember their dead relatives. This is done regularly – then buried after a procession around villages.

God also prohibits calling upon the dead in addition to cutting, tattooing or shaving since it allows demons to take over, he added. This is a direct attack to the mourning of Muharram, a practice which occurs on the death anniversary of Husayn Ibn Ali.

A number of groups consisting of Shia Muslims go out with whips attached with knives and blades beating themselves up. Some people may even cut their own heads off with these knives.
Africa traditional beliefs are deep-rooted in ancestral spirits devotion, while regular ceremonies are held to appreciate the dead for ‘protecting the living’ despite the reality that, the deceased might have been a failure in life.

Ignorance is death sentence
“Ignorance is the lack of knowledge. People are dying because of lack of knowledge. Satan has diverted our attention from God in Africa. Often, the dead are elevated and respected but when you die you don’t have control over anything – others will take charge.

Don’t give satan to a platform to sneak into your life,” mentioned the servant of God during his on-going series now available on DVD.
