HARARE. - 14-year-old teenager from Gweru, in Zimbabwe allegedly murdered a 41-year-old housemaid in an a dispute over a memory card and then kept the body.
The boy now in police custody is suspected to have struck the deceased woman identified as Nyarai Kadonzva with a hoe which killing her instantly.
According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday evening and the juvenile allegedly spent two days with the body in the house without alerting anyone.
The boy later tried to commit suicide by drinking a detergent but survived and had to be rushed to be Gweru Provincial Hospital, where he is recovering.

The boy explained that he struck Nyarai Kadonzva on the head with a hoe several times after she had accused him of stealing a memory card and a tools box.
He then hauled the body from the lounge to the toilet where he removed her blood tainted clothes and placed them in a plastic bag and leaving the deceased in a pool of blood.
Neighbours said on Sunday evening they heard a sharp scream which quickly subsided at about 11 pm. The following day when the neighbours tried to find out what could have happened, the boy refused to open the doors.

The boy was staying with the maid as his parents are in Mozambique where they are working.
