Harare – For years, entrepreneur David Chisi has been using long distance buses from Harare to Johannesburg. Occasionally, when funds permitted, he would take a flight.

The distance to Johannesburg on road is tedious. It normally takes 18 hours at least – provided all travel procedures are completed on time.

“I deal with delicate items and if I take longer on the road, they may break,” said the businessperson.

But thanks to low-cost airliner fastjet intention to introduce more flights on the Harare to Johannesburg with two flights per day on Saturday from 26 February.

“From February 26, you can take an early morning flight to Johannesburg, attend a business meeting and take our new flights back home at 9:15pm the same evening.
Passengers On Flight 

We’re initially rolling out this new frequency on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays,” they pronounced.

This has become a solution to David’s travelling arrangements – it means he can travel and return within a day, this would subtract almost four days form his business schedule.

“From February 28, we will be adding evening flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That means there will be two flights daily, with the exception of Saturday, where there will be a morning flight only,” the airline added.

The Harare to Johannesburg route has been is rewarding, with airlines introducing promotions to attract more customers – meaning customers like David are set to benefit.

The carrier is set to launch more flights soon and seeks to expand its reach in southern and East African markets.
