A man and three of his friends appeared in court on Monday after they allegedly killed a youngster for stealing a chicken.
Ronnie Makubalo (29) allegedly stole a chicken from his 48 year-old uncle’s homestead in Mantusini, Eastern Cape, on Friday.The uncle then took three of his friends and went looking for Ronnie, who they found at a local drinking hole.

According to police spokesman Captain Mduduzi Godlwana, the men dragged Ronnie to a nearby house. “The victim was assaulted with knobkerries and tortured until he eventually died.
“The suspects did not hide their involvement and were arrested and charged with murder,” he said.
Meanwhile, a group of children found a man’s skull in Zingqayi Village on Sunday.
Police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said: “The boys took the elders to the area where they found the skull. The clothes were found at the scene and were positively linked with a missing man by the name of Nkosinathi Ntshinga.
“He went missing during October 2014. The family of the missing man, who hailed from Blue Sky Village, Butterworth, identified the clothes as those of the deceased. An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.” - Online Sources
