The Zimbabwe Christian community has shown solidarity during the trial of celebrated pastor, Evan Mawarire, of #ThisFlag campaign, who was later freed by the court

Respected clergyman Bishop Tudor Bismark and known businessman and Pastor Shingi Munyeza was present during the proceeding witnessed by large crowds.

"I commend the efforts by Pastor Evan to speak against injustice, corruption and all vices that have caused poverty in our nation.
The Church has Added its Voice to the Deteriorating Situation in Zimbabwe

"Whilst his voice has been timely, I hereby challenge the church through its various leadership structures to come out as a united force and own the initiative by a fellow man of God," said Munyeza.

For long the church has been questioned for their seemingly lackadaisical approach to the prevailing situation in Harare. But of late Prophet Walter Magaya, Emmanuel Makandiwa, Apostle Wutawabwashe have been critical of the ruling government.

Marathon prophecies have been channeled by various prophets pointing to a deteriorating situation within the country - with Prophet Makandiwa saying, 'a new leader is forthcoming for the country.'

The #ThisFlag crusade has been advocating for peaceful and non-violant expression - contrary the desperate regime piled trumped up charges of subverting a constitutional government.

His lawyer, Harrison Nkomo of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights represented Mawarire - whilst almost 200 other lawyers were present .

Nkomo argued that the charges raised had not followed proper legal processes. The magistrate conceded and freed Mawarire saying his arrest was unconstitutional.

Soon after his release, thousands of Zimbabwe who were camped outside the courts in solidarity with Pastor Evan danced in jubilation and light candles.

In London residents protested the unlawful arrest.
