Bedroom Gymnastics: One Woman, Two Men, Same Bed

A Bulawayo woman is allegedly married to two men that she takes turns to stay with.

Agnes Moyo has two husbands, Richard Moyo who she’s staying with in Emakhandeni and her other unnamed husband who lives in Nkayi under Chief Sikhobokhobo’s area in Matabeleland North Province.

Richard, apparently in a typical tit-for-tat, took Agnes’s younger sister to fill the bedroom gap which she created.

Agnes’s unusual marriage arrangement or se_x deal came out at the Bulawayo Civil Court where Richard exposed her after she claimed abuse at his hands and therefore, sought a protection order.

“I am legally married to Richard Moyo. He is always abusing me and chasing me out of the house where he is now staying with my younger sister.

He is spending all the money realised from the rentals with my younger sister without giving me anything. I want the court to compel the two to look for alternative accommodation since they are now emotionally abusing me,” she said.

In response, Richard shocked the court when he said the magistrate should not feel pity for his wife because she disgraced him by marrying another man when their marriage still subsisted.

“All what she said before this court is not true. She deserted me some years back. She left me staying with her younger sister who I am currently staying with. She came back recently from Nkayi where she is now married to another man and I am surprised why she is not ashamed to approach this court claiming I am abusing her,” said Richard.

He went on: “She wanted me to support children from another man and I told her I cannot do that. It’s better for us to divorce since I am no longer comfortable with her arrangement of marrying another man when our marriage still exists.”

The couple has been married for 35 years.

Agnes, however, pleaded with the magistrate to grant her the order saying when she left her matrimonial home she was at her parents’ place since she was sick and her husband had also neglected her.

Her prayers were however, not answered when the also seemingly shocked presiding magistrate Manasa Musiiwa dismissed her application saying it lacked evidence of abuse. - B metro
