Speaking at an event on Saturday to celebrate the ANC Youth League’s 72nd anniversary, president Collen Maine attacked Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
Maine told a crowd of more than 200 that it wasn’t clear who Gordhan was serving.When Maine arrived at the University of Limpopo in Mankweng, outside Polokwane, students and the Youth League members wearing ANC T-shirts cheered and sang struggle songs.
Maine told the crowd he and his colleagues had been chosen to lead during the organisation’s most difficult time since 1994.

“We all know what is happening to the ANC. We need to self correct. The problem is that some of you here don’t represent the ANC. You represent yourselves and your family. Please self correct because the organisation is bleeding,” he said.
“There are members of the ANC behaving like popcorn, like Gordhan. “These kinds of members are harming the organisation.”
Limpopo ANCYL chairman Vincent Shoba said there was a faction in the party that wanted to kill the voice of the youth. - Daily Sun
