Harare – African music star attraction, Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi will unleash a new offering on 22 September – and the suggestive heading is a direct appeal to the Creator.

The occasion will be an open air affair, according to show arranger, Thompson Dondo of D&G Events.
“Tuku will showcase his new album for the first time in a fun filled open air setting under the stars on a beautiful summer evening,” a statement revealed.
After four decades in showbiz, his imminent offering will showcase his experience, expertly weaved genre combined with his prevalent katekwe dance.
Tuku, who lost his only son Sam in a horrific accident, also penned a devotional track pleading with the Creator after his son’s demise.
Sam was projected to carry his father’s musical legacy.
During the 80s, he plucked songs from the Methodist hymn book to revive his waning career. Soon after his career revived, he dumped the crusade.
His popular gospel album was Pfugama Unamate. The forthcoming offering titled ‘Ehe Kani Nhai Yahweh’ will be launched at his Pakare Paye Centre.
Yahweh is God’s other label. The global icon boasts over 60 albums since he began his musical journey in 1977.
Back then, he was part of Wagon Wheels, a band that also featured another musical superstar, Thomas Mapfumo.
Their single Dzandimomotera went gold and Tuku’s first album followed, which was also a major success. Tuku last released his 63rd album, Mukombe WeMvura in 2014.
Tuku has shown his nurturing side with various collaborations with various artistes’ in and out of Zimbabwe.
He has been appointed a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for the southern Africa region.
