Kampala — The Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited President Museveni to visit the Kremlin, according to Russia's new Ambassador to Uganda, Mr Alexander Dmitrievich Polyakov.
A State House statement issued on Thursday noted that the envoy delivered the invitation on Wednesday while presenting his credentials, and he described Mr Museveni as a "renowned leader on the African continent."The statement did not say if President Museveni accepted the invitation and, if so, when it would happen.

Bilateral Uganda-Russia relations have increasingly strengthened, with prospects of a Russian firm building Uganda's planned $4.5 billion oil refinery.
