Egyptian giants Zamalek president, Mortada Mansour, says that his club have agreed terms with Warriors superstar Khama Billiat to join the Cairo giants in the next season, adding that he is waiting for coach’s decision to finalise the deal.

“We received an offer concerning Billiat, but our decision to hire him depends on the opinion of team’s coach Mohamed Helmi,” Mansour told reporters in Cairo on Monday.

The 27-year-old was instrumental in Sundowns’ triumphant campaign in the Champions League that saw the South African side win their first continental title ever.

He narrowly missed the CAF African player of the year award to teammate Dennis Onyango.

He has been a dominant figure for the Warriors and played a big role in helping Warriors qualify for AFCON 2017. He also impressed during the AFCON finals despite a dismal performance by the Warriors in Gabon.

Billiat’s future has been a subject of interest, with Europe also a possible destination. Meanwhile, reports from South Africa suggest that Sundowns are preparing a huge offer to tie the player in Pretoria.

Zamalek becomes the latest Egyptian side to show interest in Billiat after Al Ahly were said to have also expressed desire to sign the Sundowns midfielder.

Belgian clubs KV Oostende and Club Brugge were also reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old midfielder.

Billiat is currently recovering from an injury but is set to return to action when Sundowns take on Kaizer Chiefs next week Saturday. - Online Sources
