Harare - Zanu PF youths have endorsed the incumbent President Robert Mugabe as their sole candidate for the 2018 watershed elections, championing for the return of the Youth Service.

Speaking at the party's interface meeting in Marondera, the capital of Mashonaland East Province, the leadership declared the 93-year-old as their "life president."

Adding to the declaration statement, Zanu PF Youth Secretary Kudzanai Chipanga said even after his demise, Mugabe will remain life president, and have a major say in all party operations.

"Even after your death we will come to the heroes acre, cabinet will come to your grave to hold their meetings. We organised this meeting to interact with their leaders. The elders are invited gatecrashers," said Chipanga.

The President will embark on a countrywide tour to meet youths ahead of the watershed 2018 Elections. His first stop is Mashonaland East, in Marondera.

Chipanga encouraged youths to vote in numbers. According to previous election statistics, only five percent voted, compared to 60 percent of those below the age of 40. Opposition leaders have embarked on voter registration drive to entice youths to make it count during the much-awaited plebiscite.

Insubordination has been castigated, after pockets of the party embarked on an orgy of violence, resulting in injuries to some supporters.

The controversial land resettlement came into play, with Chipanga calling for white land owners removal from their plots.

"They must go to Borrowdale and be with their kith and kin. What is so special about white people. President Mugabe said, the only good white man is a dead one," mentioned Chipanga.

"Youths must defend the party, not imposition of candidates," Chipanga said, while attacking selfish leaders who refuse primary party elections.
