Wayne Sandilands could become excess baggage at the Brazilians, after playing only eight games in all competitions this term falling behind the perking order in a lineup including Kennedy Mweene and first choice Denis Onyango, as new contract talks drag on.
The third choice goalkeeper's contact is set to lapse at the end of June, according to media sources.![]() |

For months, negotiations have been on-going, but a news deal is yet to be inked. The contract that the 33-year-old has at the moment has no option following the exercising of the last two options that he had.
Sandilands needs a fresh contract to remain at Chloorkop – where he has been for the past eight years. “We are in discussions with Sundowns,” Sandilands' representative Glyn Binkin tells KickOff.com.
“His current contract expires at the end of this month and there is no option. We are confident that we will find an amicable solution and we are not really concerned about the time frame. We are moving in the same direction plus we understand that they have been busy playing a lot of games,” says Binkin.
Word is that considerations are more to do about the length of the contract that Sandilands should be handed with another two years set to see him complete a decade at the club.
