A teenage prostitute who had sex with dozens of police officers has won almost £800,000 in an explosive lawsuit against the city of Oakland.
Jasmine Abuslin, 19, says she was “sexually victimised and exploited” and claims to have slept with around 30 cops while she was underage.The teen, who is the daughter of a police dispatcher, was awarded $989 000 by a Californian court which is a fraction of the $66 million settlement her lawyers were seeking.

The 19-year-old started sharing her story last year following the 2015 suicide of one of the police officers involved in the scandal.
Jamine, who used the street name Celeste Guap, claims only three officers actually paid her money for sex. Prosecutors claimed that some of the cops gave the underage girl food including Cheeto crisps as payment.
Oakland Councilwoman Rebecca Kaplan said the settlement would allow Jasmine to move on with her life.
She said: “It is time to pay the settlement agreement to let this young woman get on with her life and her healing, but also for Oakland to step up and change the culture in the police department and change how we recruit and train our officers.”
Jasmine claims that some of the men encouraged her to keep working and a prostitute and even gave her tips on how to attract clients. One officer even offered to pimp her out to potential clients.
Seven cops have been slapped with criminal charges and several more have been sacked across numerous different law enforcement agencies. Only one cop involved has so far pleaded guilty. Jasmine’s lawyer John Burris said: “The settlement occurred with no admission of liability, but obviously if you pay $1 million, you figure you got some responsibility.”
Some of the policeman offered to send the young girl to rehab to treat her drug addiction, reports The Mail Online. After attending a program in Florida in August, she was arrested for aggravated battery and filed her lawsuit against the city in the same month.
Lawyer Burris previously likened her treatment to “modern day slavery”. Brendan O’Brien took his own life when the teen allegedly threatened to publicly reveal their sexual relationship while she was only 17.
Cop Dan Black admitted to having sex with Jasmine once in his caravan and confirmed paying her with booze and dinner. And officer Brian Bunton is awaiting trial for allegedly “coaching” the teen on how to be a better prostitute.
Jasmine’s mother is a police dispatcher with the Oakland Police Department and has never spoken publicly about the scandal. The 19-year-old no longer works as a prostitute. - The Sun
