Johannesburg - While Gustavo Paez’s double ensured a rich run for Kaizer Chiefs to bag a second win of the season shooting down Maritzburg United 2-0 at Harry Gwala Stadium, Amkhosi Goalkeeper and Captain Itumeleng Khune played another blinder.

His acrobatic showing earned him his third man of the match accolade in a row, the last one coming against Cape Town City, and during the 1-1 draw against Bidvest Wits.

His heroics ensured Chiefs amassed seven points out of a possible nine from their last three Absa Premiership games.

Paez scored on both halfs of the match, while Khune aso saved Evans Rusike’s penalty in the dying stages of the match.

Harry Gwala Stadium proved to be a happy hunting ground for Steve Komphela who came here last season and collected all three points against the Team of Choice. This was United’s first defeat of the season.

However, coach Steve Komphela remains cautious.

"We are working, we are working, we are at work and results are the determining factor," Komphela told reporters after the contest at Harry Gwala Stadium.

"But we are happy with results. We add on what we have so that our people [fans] can be more confident and be happier. But we are delighted with the victory, and the players worked very hard against a very good Maritzburg team. - Online Sources
