Johannesburg - Mike Makaab has dismissed rumours linking Zimbabwean international Knowledge Musona to Kaizer Chiefs.

Makaab, the agent of Musona who made his name at Amakhosi over the last couple of years was heavily linked to Chiefs last week.

The former PSL top scorer is currently plying his trade at KV Oostende of Belgium.

“I don’t know where is this rumour is coming from. Knowledge is still contracted to Oostende and he is happy there. He recently renewed his contract with the team,” Makaab explained.

"He is one of the most valuable players in Belgium. If he moves he will move in to a bigger league not in South Africa. With due respect to South African league, Knowledge is focused on playing in Europe.

"Chiefs have never said anything to us regarding Knowledge. He had his time in South Africa. Moving back to SA will be like a step back in career now."

Amakhosi are searching for the marksman who is lethal in-front of goals. The club got rid of the likes of Edward Manqele, Siphelele Mthembu, Lewis Macha and Michelle Katsvairo.

Chiefs have three strikers at their disposal at the moment. They have Bernard Parker, Gustavo Paez and Ryan Moon.

They have already made it known that they are still searching for a marksman. Amakhosi have been assessing different strikers but non of them have been able to impress Chiefs boss Steve Komphela.

Komphela decided against signing Jonatan Philippe of Argentina and Okiki Afolaba of Nigeria. They are currently assessing the duo of Julien Ebah and Christ Mbondi.

Both strikers are from Cameroon. Chiefs have scored seven goals in six matches for this season in league games. Paez is Amakhosi’s top scorer. He has already netted three goals.

He is one of the leading scorers in the league. He is tied with Kudakwashe Mahachi and Lerato Lamola of Lamontville Golden Arrows, Rodney Ramagalela of Polokwane City, Rhulani Manzini of AmaZulu and Gift Motupa of Baroka FC.

If Paez and Parker get injured Chiefs will be in trouble. - Online Sources
