Harare – After months of speculation and half-truths – Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has finally opened up on this escape route – after he was fired – and subsequently put on a wanted hit list by his dislodged predecessor – Robert Mugabe.

Months earlier, the President had survived another food poisoning attempt, reportedly administered during heated rallies fronted by former first lady Grace Mugabe, which later became humiliation pulpits for perceived enemies.

Mnangagwa was speaking during an investors meeting in Pretoria to entice businesses to return to Harare to save the comatose economy. The gathering was heralded by meeting with South Africa President Jacob Zuma.

Mnangagwa says, after being fired at 4pm by 9pm Intelligence had told him of moves to eliminate him. He subsequently crossed the border by 9pm. Later on he was picked up from Mozambique by businessman Justice Maphosa.

Maphosa is a South Africa based Zimbabwean business person. He is the founder and CEO of Bigtime Strategic Group.

He is originally from Gwanda and claims he started his first business at the age of 13 when he would use his camera to do a photography business. Maphosa has said that he was born and he grew up in South Africa.

Recently, Bigtime bankrolled the Miss Zimbabwe pageant.

The government forgives the G40 cabal, says Mnangagwa.

“Whatever offence we committed to you, please put that behind you. The word says forgive, forgive. I forgive the cabal. I have said bygones be bygones and they are back in the country except for the 3 who still are doing something funny – but it will also end,” said the president
On the business front, Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe needs to revisit legislation to open up business, while foreign investors are no longer limited to 49% shareholding except in diamonds and platinum.

Mnangagwa is scheduled to meet ANC leadership now under the leadership of Cyril Ramaphosa.
