Harare – In a bid to scrap any morsels of investment opportunities available, Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said his country has no case against America and vise versa.
Responding to queries from the media at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland – Mnangagwa was on a charm offensive, twisting the question to make an investment bid for the struggling southern Africa state. The question popped after American President allegedly called African states as s***hole states, drawing the ire of AU and other countries – with neighbouring Botswana being the most vocal of the grouping.

“Zimbabwe has no case against the US. If I met President Trump I would ask him to come and build hotels and golf courses in Victoria Falls – and we will give them incentives for five years,” adding that, “Zimbabwe is open for business, even to its former enemies.”
Mnangagwa’s remarks will certainly cause uproar in the political spheres, but his intentions to mop up an available investors were lauded by observers.
Trump has since rejected ever making the statement saying, “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made — a big setback for DACA!”
Harare and New York have been on the warring path since the land reform programme, resulting in sanctions imposed on the former.
