Johannesburg - The hunt for Kaizer Chiefs’ new head coach is officially underway - and several names have already been linked with the position as Steve Komphela’s successor, including Stuart Baxter.

After Komphela's departure, there are strong suggestions that they will be looking to hand the position to somebody who was born outside South Africa's borders.

Patrick Mabedi has been tasked with taking the team forward until the end of the season, with the Amakhosi management seeking to identify the long-term fix prior to the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

When confirming Mabedi as the interim coach earlier this week, the club added, “In the meantime, the search is on to find a new coach for next season.”

As things stand, the likes of Luc Eymael, Stuart Baxter, Nikola Kavazovic, Doctor Khumalo, Manqoba Mngqithi and Ruud Krol have all had their names thrown in the hat for the job.
