Khama Billiat: "We wanted Someone to have Effect on our Matches," Katsande

Cape Town - Fellow Zimbabwean soccer star Willard Katsande has buttressed the recent mega move by Khama Billiat from Mamelodi Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs, saying he is a massive addition at Naturena.

Chiefs recently announced their latest catch of the talented forward from league rivals Sundowns earlier this week, to become the third Zimbabwean on Amakhosi books.

Now the midfield enforcer strongly feels Amakhosi needed a player of Billiat's abilities to help them reclaim their place as a dominant force in South African football.

Billiat was heavily linked with clubs abroad as well as African powerhouses Zamalek before choosing the Soweto giants. He will join compatriots Katsande and Teenage Hadebe at Naturena.

"It's massive addition to us. We really wanted someone who can have effect on our matches," Katsande told the Herald.

"For me, it is also a good feeling whereby I know how he plays; all we need to do is to help him settle in at the club."

While Billiat has faced a lot of criticism in Zimbabwe for turning down offers to play overseas, Katsande is optimistic the forward still has a chance of making it abroad.

"His European chances are not yet over. He can still go after helping us win the league. Chiefs won't hold onto players who want to go overseas," the 32-year-old added.
