Ndinyengeiwo Girl: Why Police Summoned Lorraine Guyo

Harare - It never rains but pours for Lorraine Guyo. When all seemed to have settled, after a viral Valentine's Day video, pleading men to propose her, the police have summoned her for interrogation over a phonographic footage.

Despite her continued denial that she was not the lady in the nude video, the police have decided otherwise, even though a close scrutiny of the armature production reveals it was not Lorraine.

Now the logical reason for being summoned to the cop shop would be an onslaught on the voice of artistes, after a similar case which resulted in Gonyeti paying an admission of guilt for allegedly wearing police regalia without due permission.

While many celebrities, including Denzel Burutsa and Pokello Nare, are yet to be quizzed by police, Lorraine's case raises more questions over the timing and hazy evidence at hand.

But the most logical reason remains that she recently appeared in a skit with Comic Pastor in which they seemed to poke fun at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s calls for national dialogue.

When she was asked about the video she denied the allegations and said that she had heard that the video in question, may have been taken from an adult website where it was titled “Bridget from Ghana Strips and Shows on Webcam”.

However, the screenshot which purportedly showed that the video was taken from the adult website seems to have been doctored as the original image was replaced by the n_ude woman in the bathroom.

A search for the video using the exact search terms on the website shows a completely different video. Local publication H-Metro reports that the police are not satisfied that the woman in the video is not Lorraine and have already summoned her questioning at the police inspectorate and licence question.

The interview with the police was scheduled for this morning in Harare. Lorraine has been maximising on her newfound celebrity status and has quit her job after she was offered endorsement deals and brand ambassadorships for a number of local entities.

She has also featured in a musical video done by raising singer Tongai 'Greatman' Gwaze.
